Organizing Outreach Programs with BBBS
As a well-established organization, BBBS has a busy schedule, which means securing a spot for our events requires early and precise communication. To book a session, we typically need to reach out several months in advance—often as early as October or November of the previous year. This advance planning is crucial for aligning with BBBS’s availability and ensuring that our proposed dates and details fit into their schedule.
The logistical aspect of coordinating with BBBS also involves setting up meetings, finalizing event specifics, and aligning our goals with their mission. This often includes discussing the format of the sessions, the number of participants, and the resources required. Effective communication is key to overcoming any challenges that arise during this phase, and it requires patience and flexibility on both sides.
Despite these challenges, our collaboration with BBBS has been successful. We have managed to organize four to five outreach sessions, each contributing significantly to our Junior Moonshots initiative. Through these sessions, we have engaged with young people, providing educational experiences and fostering community involvement. The effort to work with BBBS, though demanding, has proven to be rewarding and has greatly benefited our outreach programs.
