Benefit Concert Bakesale!
17 Dec 2022 | Austin Moon
In order to fund the concert location fee for our upcoming benefit concert, we created a bake sale, and sold homemade baked goods including brownies, cookies, muffins and more.
Prior to Covid, we have always been able to acquire a concert room free of charge, but due to short funding from many locations, the cheapest price we have managed was $420, which includes an hourly charge along with piano tuning. The goal of the bake sale was to help support these funds and raise more than that amount! The rest of the funds raised along with any donations will go 100% towards the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America(BBBS) Foundation. For more details about BBBS, refer here: https://www.bbbs.org/
This was the first ever bake sale for the benefit concert, so although I had done many bake sales in the past for different organizations, it felt like a brand new experience for the first time. Thankfully, it wasn’t long before kind strangers greeted us, giving us donation after donation. We began to split up into groups, and donned our festive Christmas hats too. Although it was beginning to get even colder than before, we continued selling our goods through the cold. But even though the temperature wasn’t in our favor, we were able to directly contribute towards our community and truly make a difference for those in need.
Overall at the end of the bakesale, we were able to raise $788 for the concert and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Foundation. All of the funds will be given directly to the BBBS organization. BBBS uses these donations to ensure their programs fully are directly supporting youth.
The current tentative date is scheduled for January 29th at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer.
We will be posting more updates soon when we have fully confirmed the date!
